On Sunday, December 14, 2025, the prestigious Panorama Room of the Fleuve Congo Hotel hosted an exceptional evening marking the third edition of the TROPHÉE TOMBWAMA, a ceremony dedicated to honoring the builders of Congo.
Held under the theme "Building now for a thriving Congo," this edition brought together figures from political, administrative, economic and social circles, all united by a shared vision: to actively contribute to the sustainable development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A highlight of the evening, Mr. Barnabé Muakadi Muamba, Director General of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI), was awarded the Excellence Award, in recognition of the bold and structuring reforms he has driven at the head of this strategic financial agency.
This distinction honors the sustained efforts that strengthened the mobilization of public revenue, thereby giving the Government of the Republic the means necessary to effectively implement its public policy. It also reflects the alignment of the DGI's action with the vision of His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Republic and Head of State, whose faithful lieutenant Mr. Muakadi Muamba considers himself to be.
Speaking after receiving the award, the DGI Director General dedicated this distinction to the President of the Republic, for his enlightened vision of good governance, stating that he considers himself a worthy disciple of that vision. He also shared this honor with the Government of the Republic, before paying tribute to the staff and executives of the DGI, praising their sense of sacrifice, their daily commitment and their constant dedication in the service of the Congolese State.
Concluding his address, Mr. Barnabé Muakadi Muamba expressed his deep gratitude to the TROPHÉE TOMBWAMA Coordination, for this recognition and for organizing a ceremony that celebrates excellence, leadership and positive impact in the service of the Nation.
